Lindsay Herndon-Ortega
Ms. Ortega studied Mathematics and Psychology at St. Mary’s College of California in the Bay Area where she played tennis as a scholarship athlete. She spent 10 years working in Actuarial Science and Finance, followed by 5 years in the Biopharmaceutical industry, during which time she moved to San Diego. She decided to go back to school to become a Mathematics teacher because she wanted to be an active part of improving the local community, get the opportunity to work with kids, and to spread her love of mathematics and problem solving. She loves building strong relationships with middle school students as it is such a pivotal time in everyone’s life, where identity starts to get developed.
