About Me
Hello! My name is Aubrey Walford McMichael, and I am the Middle School TOSA for MTSS Implementation!
The 2024-2025 school year is my 11th year as an educator. To get to this point, I received my Bachelor's Degree in English and English Education from Manhattanville College just outside of New York City. From there, I moved to Chicago and went on to join Teach for America where I started my first 3 years of teaching while earning my Masters Degree in Secondary Education from Johns Hopkins University. I have always had a love for travel which is what brought me to these cities and around the world throughout my adult life! But, after 7 very cold winters, I was ready to move back to my hometown of San Diego. This is what landed me at The O'Farrell Charter School. It has been during my time at O'Farrell that I met and married my husband. We welcomed our first baby last November!
I am deeply proud to be a part of this community. Seeing our students grow from 6th graders to 8th graders as an ELA and AVID teacher, and on to High School graduates has been the deepest honor of my career. I have had many mixed feelings about leaving the classroom to begin my new role; but after 10 years as a classroom teacher, I am excited to support students, staff, and families through a multi-tiered system of support!
This school year, I will also be finishing my current loop with students and serving as your 8th Grade Team Leader. I am here to support and answer all questions regarding 8th Grade. I look forward to promotion and all of the exciting events that lead up to it this year!
