About Me

Hi! My name is Kayla Franklin, and I am excited to welcome you to a new school year!

I serve as the Middle School Team Lead, 6th Grade English Language Arts (ELA) teacher, and Yearbook Coordinator at O'Farrell Middle School. This will be my 9th year teaching at O'Farrell, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such an amazing school community.

I was born and raised in North County San Diego, primarily in the Escondido and San Marcos area. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Psychology from California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI). I later received my Master's degree in Education and my California Teaching Credential from National University.

I am passionate about helping students grow as readers, writers, and critical thinkers while creating a classroom where every student feels supported, challenged, and valued. I look forward to building strong relationships with both students and families throughout the year.

I am so excited for the new school year and can't wait to get to know your students. I know we are going to have a fantastic year together!
