Vice Principal
Greetings, Salutations, and Talofa Lava!
My name is Amos Mikaele and I am grateful to be serving as Vice Principal for the O'Farrell Middle School campus.
About Me:
I am a proud product of Southeast San Diego, having attended Encanto Elementary (Encanto rec. center Bulls), O'Farrell Middle School (Family One Succeeders), and Morse Senior High (T-I-G-E-R-S). Since I've joined the O'Farrell team, I've found so much value in serving the students and families within the community I grew up in and am constantly striving to help our students navigate social-emotional learning and it what it means, not just in the confides of school, but to who they are as individuals in the outside world. Before starting at O'Farrell in the 2021-22 school year, I previously served as the founding school counselor for 6 years at the Intellectual Virtues Academy (IVA) middle school in Long Beach, CA, then as the founding school counselor here at O'Farrell middle school from 2021 through 2024.
Education:
I received a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology at Southern Oregon University, received a Masters of Education in Educational and Clinical Counseling from Azusa Pacific University, and a Masters of Education in School Leadership from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Outside of school:
- I love spending time with my family, visiting beaches, parks, farmers' markets, swap meets, etc. (best nachos in SD are at the Spring Valley Swap Meet, hands down).
- You can call me an In-N-Out truther.
- I proudly support the current NFL team that is formerly known as the San Diego Chargers #BOLTUP⚡.
- I'm a home chef that loves to cook and make meals for my little family of five.
